Hidden Mickeys: Disney World App Reviews

Must have for all WDW visitors who want a new experience! And I would like to tell about a mickey while soarin! There is a big area of bushes there, i think b4 the mountain. Keep your eyes peeled for a complete mickey made of bushes!

This app really needs to be updated so that it at the very least includes the hidden mickeys in the latest edition of the book. However there is now New Fantasyland Hidden Mickey’s featured which is quite disappointing. As someone who owns both the 2nd and 5th editions of the book I was hoping that the app would be an improvement over having multiple editions of the book sitting on my shelf, but it seems that is that way to go. The app does make it easier to skip around to different areas in the park depending on where you are than the book, but other than that this app is a complete waste of money. Spend the extra dollar and download the ebook to use in the park.

Immediately upon opening the app, they try to make you pay an additional $3 to access the update it says is below. An already expensive app that is already outdated. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Should call it hidden things that if you squint right, kind of could look like a Mickey. Also update cost is bs.

Expensive app but I had such a good time with the book on a previous trip I had to check it out for my next trip. Descriptions arent the best without the hints, but its handy when in the parks and on rides. Hoping for updates in the future with WDW expansion.

My son and I go to the parks and hotels every week to find mickeys. Twice now, Ive opened the app and all my HMs had been reset and had to uninstall and reinstall. I had to figure out which ones we found and put them in again. The first time we were at about 120 and the second time, over 200. So annoying and nothing is more aggravating than trying to figure out which 200 mickeys youve found. I really hope this is fixed cause its a great app besides that MAJOR problem

Huge Disney and huge hidden Mickey fan so these apps are great! If you are experiencing problems with the app so that when you tap "I found it" it doesnt stay that way and says you still havent found it, delete the app and reinstall it for free. It works. Great app and very fun to look for all the hidden mickeys!!

I love HMs. I love being able to look for them using this app. The basics are really good. But there are a few points that make me wonder why I paid money for the app. First of all, personally I consider a HM only a "real" HM if it is reasonable that it is placed there as an HM and not a haphazard combination of three circles. Too many of the "HMs" in the app are dubious at best. It would be nice if users could rate HMs in the app and even add new ones. If a HM receives a certain number of reviews and the rating is too low, the HM could be removed from the next update. That way only HMs that people agree upon will survive. It would be nice to have a "Near Me" option to show the locations of possible HMs near the user. The navigation could use bigger buttons. On an iPhone screen some navigation elements are hard to touch. The auto-scaling of text (in the lists) is nice, but sometimes the characters become so small its really hard to read. Better to max the reduction of the character size and cut the line off (…..). Heres hoping op some improvements.

I purchased this app for an upcoming trip to WDW. I looked for Hidden Mickeys at Disneyland and thought it would be fun to look for them in FL. I was hoping there would be Hidden Mickeys for New Fantasy land included but do not see any. Will those be a part of an update later? I am also having some problems viewing the hints on my iPad. I know what it says to do and am following the instructions but I am still unable to view them. If someone has any insight into that I would greatly appreciate any help. Even with those small inconveniences, Im looking forward to using the app on my trip in March. I think it will be a lot of fun to look for the many HMs with my family, not to mention it will be a great way to pass the time while waiting in line :)

Went last year and recently upgraded phones. Noticed my hidden mickeys had been wiped. I suggest using the iCloud APIs so that it is easy to use between devices and restore info. For example I enter one on my iPhone and can view it later on my iPad. Edit: no iPad landscape support and not iPhone 5 optimized. Last update was 9/12 -- not a good sign! This is the type of app that one would imagine needs fairly constant updating. For example there have been new attractions and park areas added since 9/12. Would be cool to be able to take pictures of mickeys found and have linked to an account and uploaded (with private or shared setting options) in addition to being saved to camera roll. After trip one could then go through the photos of their mickeys streamed into the app if they have removed the pictures from their phone. Additionally would be cool if there was some ability to crowd source data, share the pictures as hints (could be good for people having trouble), add new mickeys, etc. -- basically use the people using the app to improve its data. Good luck. Generally its good, had fun using it as it was helpful, just has a lot of room to grow.

I love the hidden mickeys and the cool achievements! All I want to be fixed are: 1)I always have to manually upload all my previously found HMs 2) While uploading it I noticed that the HMs are out of order. I really would like it to be fixed so I dont miss any the first time I go on the ride! 3)Screen size needs to be updated for 5th generation devices But overall its great and a lot better than the book with an cheaper cost!

I think you should be able to scan with your camera soon

This app is very good, but it needs an update because the user interface does not stretch to fit the iPhone 5s screen AND there are no HM listings for the New Fantasyland. Also, Snow Whites Scary Adventures is still listed, and that attraction no longer exists at Walt Disney World. Please update soon! Thanks!

App is great, I was able to find a few Mickeys in Downtown Disney! Please update for iPhone 5 and the new Fantasyland!

I love this app! Its very convenient to carry along when hunting for Hidden Mickeys. However, it needs some updates! Some things to include... • The new fantasyland! On the website, I noticed some new discoveries there. Please include them in the app! • I heard that test track in Epcot has been changed. I havent visited it yet, but if there are new Mickeys, I want to know! • The Snow White ride doesnt exist anymore! Please remove it! • I would love if the clues were in order, like in the book. I hate having to ride the attractions more than once because the clues are scattered! Thanks so much! I love hunting for Mickeys, and this app would be a zillion times better with these suggestions!

This was a huge disappointment. It seems that this hasnt been updated in quite some time. A lot if these HM dont even exist anymore.

I LOVE this app a lot!! but I think you should be able to scan it to make sure it is the Mickey if not it shows you what Mickey u see... (that would be a lot of work...) or have pictures of them (the mickeys) so you know what to look for also add the "art of animation" resort and new fantasy land (take off Snow Whites Scary Adventures) thanks! -leah

Please update this app to include all of the changes that have taken place at WDW!! You pay $ for this app and then they dont update. A little disappointed, but will still use what we can for our trip this week.

This app would be great if it were updated. None of New Fantasyland has been added. The last update was March 2012? And you charge $7.99 for this? For charging so much this app should be updated monthly at minimum.
